Our top Membership Platinum has $1,000/month LTD coverage incuded as part of your membership dues, however you may purchase additional coverage amount to help ease the financial burden for you and your family. Additional amounts available in increments of $100 to provide supplemental protection. This benefit covers you for up to 2 years. If you are unable to perform the material and substantial duties of your regular occupation this benefit will help you.

This benefit is designed to aid pilots and their families from devastating financial loss due to disability. LTD insurance will help you to be able to cover living expenses during a period when you are not earning a salary.

Long Term Disability coverage, issued by The Prudential Insurance Company of America (Prudential), is an effective way to replace a portion of your income when you are unable to work due to an illness or injury.

The above rates apply to those under age 55, at age 55 duration of disablity payments reduced to 12 months.

Eligible Members

  1. Membership is in good standing
  2. Have an active Class 1 FAA Medical certification
  3. Airplane class rating for license only
  4. Must have 3 take-offs and landings in last 90 days in an aircraft that requires your Class 1 FAA medical certification
  5. Under Age 55

Exclusions

What Disabilities Are Not Covered Under Your Plan?

Your plan does not cover any disabilities caused by or resulting from your: · intentionally self-inflicted injuries; or · active participation in a riot; or · commission of a crime for which you have been convicted under state, provincial or federal law; or · a specified condition. Your plan does not cover a disability due to: · war, declared or undeclared, or any act of war; or · pregnancy. But, this does not include a complication of pregnancy. Specified condition means a condition specifically named or described under Excluded Conditions in your Specifications Page. Complication of pregnancy means a condition, when pregnancy is not terminated, whose diagnosis is distinct from pregnancy but adversely affected or caused by pregnancy.

A 12/12 pre-existing exclusion applies, as well as for any increase in benefits

Disability means that the Insured Member, because of Injury or Sickness, is: 1) continuously unable to maintain Class 1 FAA FAA Medical Certification because of Injury or Sickness, including Mental Disorder.
